Floating therapy
Restricted Environmental Stimulation Technique or R.E.S.T. goes by many names, including Sense or Sensory Deprivation therapy, isolation therapy, floatiation, float or floating therapy.
The goal of R.E.S.T. is precisely that: Rest — to give your brain a break by shutting out the world and resetting your senses.
You will lie down in a quiet, sound proof tank filled with 10 inches of salt water at body temperature, then relax for an hour or so. It is and easy and practical way to enter a meditative state during which both hemispheres of your brain vibrate harmoniously. Wondrous disturbances of the senses will ensue.
As you float:
· Your brain starts secreting more endorphins, our own natural opiates our
bodies make to reduce pain. They also help to spark a euphoric state which
can linger for days after your float.
· Your levels of biochemicals directly related to stress, anxiety, and tension
decrease rapidly and significantly, according to lab studies.
·This reduction of stress and anxiety, in turn, help overcome addictions like
smoking, drinking, or overeating.
· Your analytical part of the brain starts dancing with your creative side of the
brain, providing new creative ways to solve problems or approach complex
situations.
· Athletic fatigue and “post-race let down” is virtually eliminated which, allows
athletes to improve their performance by reducing recovery times.
· Two hours of floating are more restful and restorative than a full night of sound
sleep!
· Super-learning is unleashed! Floating increases the mind’s powers of
comprehension, retention and original thinking.

When booking your float session, be mindful of the following:
• You must shower before entering the tank to eliminate oils from your skin, so please arrive fifteen minutes before your scheduled session to do so.
• Also, you will have to rinse away the salt left on your skin after your session is over. The salt can be irritating to some.
• You must bring your own swimming earplugs.
Remember to bring them when you come.
• DO NOT SHAVE before your float session. The high concentration of Epsom salts can cause a burning sensation.
• DO NOT DYE your hair within two weeks prior of your float session. The dye will ruin the filtration system.
